Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge Wildlife Series
The Laysan Albatross is one of the largest seabirds in the Hawaiian Islands, with a wingspan of nearly 7 feet. They return to Kilauea Point each year to nest. Albatross mate for life and both parents take turns incubating the egg and feeding the chick. They can be seen at the Point from November thru July, when the last chick fly away.
Every Nature Store purchase, whether here, or onsite at Kilauea Point, directly strengthens and supports education, conservation, habitat restoration, volunteer and visitor programs on Kauai's three refuges as well as ongoing maintenance of the Daniel K. Inouye Kilauea Point Lighthouse.
